Our Programs + Services

Pacekids Programs is a family-focused, non-profit service provider that strives to offer excellence in the treatment of children with special needs emphasizing a trans-disciplinary, direct-treatment approach.

Operating for 23 years, Pacekids currently provides services to over 400 children each year, from infancy through school age.

Pacekids offers a range of programs and services for children with special needs and their families. Services and supports are intended to promote children’s healthy development, maximize quality of life, assist families in their role as primary caregivers and support full participation in community life.

Infant + Family Support

A program for children aged six months to three years, this program is designed to teach parents and caregivers of young children with disabilities the skills and strategies that will assist their children during their early growth and development.

ECS Preschool + Kindergarten

A program for children aged 2 ½ to six years, Pacekids’ Early Childhood Services (ECS) Program follows the standards set by Alberta Education. Pacekids offers two ECS programs: a Multidisciplinary ECS Program and a Speech and Language Enhancement Program (SLE).

Behavioural Aide Program

Pacekids is a qualified provider of three different options within the Developmental/Behavioural Aide Program funded through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD). Based on the needs of the family, programming options may involve an Aide, Therapist and/or Generalist. These services are available for children from six months to approximately 12 years of age.

Specialized Services

Specialized Services is a Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) funded program. The program uses a multi-disciplinary team of expert therapists to teach parents and caregivers of children with disabilities the skills and strategies to assist their children with tasks of everyday life.

Stepping Stones Triple P

A program which is specific to parents of children 17 years of age or younger with a disability. The Stepping Stones Triple P program aims to teach parents how to use Positive Parenting strategies to develop a positive relationship with their child, encourage appropriate behavior, teach their child new skills, manage misbehavior and implement planned activities routines for high-risk parenting situations.

Private Assessment + Therapy

Dedicated to providing new and current Pacekids families access to immediate private assessment and direct therapy options for special needs children, Pacekids’ PAT team offers a full range of assessment and therapy services. Pacekids’ PAT therapists are pediatric experts who are experienced in working with families and children impacted by special needs.
