We’re excited to share that Pacekids has been selected as 1 of 5 local Calgary charities to participate in the 2025 Giving Machine Calgary! This unique community initiative will be at Market Mall from December 10th to 30th, where shoppers can donate to Pacekids and other charitable organizations, including Children’s Cottage, Women in Need Society, Kids Cancer Care, Wood’s Homes, and UNICEF Canada.
Thank you to City of Calgary Deputy Mayor Dan McLean and City Councillor Kim Tyres for supporting this initiative. A special thank you to Elder James E. Evanson, Alex Andrews, Kristen Stringham, and the Giving Machine Calgary team for organizing it, and to Market Mall and Mall Manager Paige O’Neill for hosting.
“One of the donation items in the Giving Machines is “Speech Help”, and I absolutely love that. This resource represents the work that helps kids be understood, join in, and feel confident. I’ve watched children start the school year with just a handful of words or speech that’s nearly impossible to understand, and by spring, they’re having genuine back-and-forth conversations with their friends. You can actually feel the shift in the room when a child realizes that others finally understand what they’re trying to say.”
– Torey Perez, Pacekids Clinical Manager
The donation items in the Giving Machine might seem small on their own, snacks to help kids stay regulated, sensory toys that support learning, beginner books that build early literacy, fee waivers that ease the burden on families, and speech help that gives a child a way to connect. But together, they truly add up to something life changing.
At Pacekids, we get to witness these transformations every single day, and it’s only possible because of support from our community.
So this holiday season, please consider donating to Pacekids whether that’s through the Giving Machines at Market Mall or online, here at pacekids.ca/donate.
