Jamal is a six-year-old boy who loves to play tag, read books and be the class clown. He also happens to have a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, Microcephaly and Global Developmental Delay.
Jamal started with Pacekids in our ECS program over five years ago.
When he first came to Pacekids, Jamal spoke a total of ten words which were often unintelligible, and he had no means to be mobile aside from walking on his knees.
In his time at Pacekids, Jamal developed immensely! Jamal is now a thriving little boy who feels confident in all that he does.
Through the support of Pacekids, Jamal’s family was able to secure funding for his own Kid Walk device which allows Jamal independence at home and in the classroom. He has now developed enough upper body strength that he can even go up the stairs by himself. There is no holding back this incredible kiddo!
Although Pacekids misses Jamal dearly, we are so happy to see how far this little guy has come. Jamal is continuing his education into the public-school system and experiencing school like everyone else!
