Meet Sussana Dikome, a Classroom Therapy Aide at Pacekids Sunridge!

1. What is your role at Pacekids, and how long have you been here?

“I am a Classroom Therapy Aide (CTA) at Pacekids, and I am currently completing my 11th year with the organization. It has been a privilege to grow alongside the children, families, and colleagues I work with every day.”

2. What drew you to working with children with diverse needs?

“I have always had a passion for working with children and helping them succeed. Working with children with diverse needs allows me to support their growth, celebrate their unique strengths, and help them develop important life and social skills. I find great joy in fostering peer interactions and creating opportunities for every child to thrive.

3. What is a moment at Pacekids that has stuck with you?

“One of the most memorable experiences in my career was supporting a child with cerebral palsy. I worked closely with him for about a year and seeing him begin walking the following year was an incredible moment. Witnessing his determination and progress reminded me of the impact that patience, teamwork, and consistent support can have on a child’s development.”

4. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

“The most rewarding part of my job is seeing children achieve their goals and gain new skills. Whether it’s a small step forward or a major milestone, watching their confidence grow and knowing I played a role in their success is incredibly fulfilling.”

5. What is something your colleagues might not know about you?

“Outside of work, I volunteer with a soccer club where my husband is the Technical Director, and I help mentor younger children and teenagers. I enjoy supporting young people, encouraging teamwork, and helping them build confidence both on and off the field.

I also volunteer in my church in the kids ministry, where I teach Kindergarten and Preschool. I love working and supporting kids reach their full potentials!”
