Pacekids Programs believes in Developmental Play! Pacekids is excited to be opening a brand new South School in Fall 2017. Located in Calgary’s SE neighbourhood of Sundance, the new school will feature up to six adaptive, resource-filled classrooms and will be 12,000 square feet – more than double the size of their current south facility. With industry-leading equipment and resources like a sensory movement gym, outdoor adaptive play space and speech-language resources in every classroom, this new location will provide the very best therapeutic and educational option for the kiddos we service! Mark Sutherland Invitational hits $500,000 raised!

On Tuesday, October 4th, over 30 celebrity guests and 200 poker players came together at Cowboys Dance Hall in hopes of ‘Knocking out a Cowboy’ at Mark Sutherland’s annual charity poker tournament. This was the fifth year for the event and the fundraising total reached half a million dollars raised for Pacekids Programs and other deserving non-profit organizations! ChangeMakers Project

Pacekids was lucky to be chosen by Tyra, a seventh-grade student from Banded Peak School as the charity of choice for her ‪changemakers ‬project. changemaker (čenǰ mekər) – n. – someone who is taking creative action to solve a social problem. Changemakers activates a global network of social entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders, policymakers, and activists to build the movement for Everyone A Changemaker. The grade seven students at Banded Peak School each take on a changemakers project of their own, and Pacekids is proud to have been chosen. Taking Our Learning into the Community – Calgary Corn Maze

We are so grateful to Calgary Corn Maze for playing host to us for our first field trip of the year. It was the perfect setting to meet up and connect with our families, and, not to mention, the weather couldn’t have been any better! Learning through the Five Senses

This month our theme at preschool is the five senses. We’ve had some fun with this, using touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste to explore and learn about the world around us and each other. One of my favorite things we did this month was a taste test. To introduce the topic, we read Lick by Matthew Van Fleet. We learned that our tongues can lick, taste and feel. This book reading was participation focused and we used a combination of oral language, sign language, visuals and single message communicators (such as Big Macs) to give everyone a voice and
